Winter is here and it is time to layer up! Skinfit started 15 years ago with the Klima baselayer and to this day it is the most functional baselayer available.

Our collection of sports underwear is knitted with the functional microfine "Isofil" fiber. This fiber absorbs humidity from the body and quickly distributes it over a large surface (with a short-sleeve shirt, for example, over 32 square meters). Thus, the perspiration evaporates quickly or is transferred to the next clothing layer. The result: in spite of exertion, you feel dry. In the cold, on the other hand, Skinfit Klima has a warming effect due to the large amount of air captured in the fiber. The effect is similar to that of thermostatic control: When you are overheated, Skinfit Klima helps your body stay cool. Skinfit was well represented yesterday in Maui at the Xterra World Championships with Nico Lebrun taking second, Lesley Paterson taking second, and Christine Jeffrey taking 9th! I would say it was a successful day for our Skinfit athletes!
A host of other amateur athletes were wearing Skinfit gear too so big props to them for conquering a very tough course!

Kona was a big day (week) for Skinfit. Our brand was represented by athletes from around the world. At kona this year, it was particularly evident that Skinfit is truly a global brand and the decision to expand to the states is a smart one.
We (as in those that operate the company)have know for a long time that Skinfit is the premier sports apparel brand because of its superior functionality and comfort but to see so many other people supporting the brand at the biggest triathlon event in the world was both impressive and inspiring.

Kona is upon us

Kona is next weekend and there is no shortage of Skinfit out there on the Queen K.

Skinfit dominates podium at Xterra Nationals

Nico Lebrun won the men's race by running down 3-time world champ Conrad Stoltz, Lesley Paterson put together a solid performance to take 3rd, and Christine Jeffrey finished 9th and secured a top 5 in the overall points series. Congrats to all of our Skinfit athletes...keep rocking it!
Next up is the World Championships in Maui and we know these three are going to tear it up!

Brian Lavelle qualifies for Kona!

Skinfit athlete, Brian Lavelle, qualified for Kona at IM Canada last weekend! He went 8:59 with a 48:38 min swim, 4:45:46 bike and 3:20:48 run. Congrats Brian! Can't wait to see you rock it in Kona! The white kit looks good!

We are happy to report that Skinfit USA is taking off. We are building our "family" everyday and we are really excited about it! Recently, we were at the Santa Cruz Sprint Tri and the Splash-and-Dash in Cupertino. Both were great events and we look forward to doing them again next year.

Skinfit USA Racing Team

The Skinfit USA Racing Team has been growing over the past 6 months. It has been a fun project for us and we are excited to see it evolve. We started to build the team up in Northern California and we have recently started to grow the team down in Southern California (San Diego specifically).
Our goal in creating the team is to get like-minded, fun, and active people together that love Skinfit and are willing to help us spread the Skinfit love. Team members obviously get great deals on Skinfit products and have opportunities to secure some big discounts on other products like Xterra wetsuits and Rudy Project helmets and sunglasses. Most importantly though, we want a core group of athletes that have a true passion for the outdoors and love life, which is at the core of living the Skinfit lifestyle.

Splash and Dash #2

Skinfit was everywhere at the second splash and dash race in Cupertino. Representing Skinfit was the Skinfit USA Racing Team, Team Ascent, TRIbe, SVTC, Stanford Tri Team and many more northern California athletes. The athletes sported trishorts, speedsuits, aeroshirts, trisuits, tri tops, aero plus jackets, and fleece jackets. As the title sponsor for the event we provided gift certificates and aero shirts as awards for age group winners.
A great event with great people...don't miss the third and final splash and dash event August 13th!

Nico Lebrun wins again

Nico Lebrun won again in Beaver creek this weekend! He took the last two stops on the Xterra Cup Curcuit. This ranks him high in the overall series...we will see what happens at nationals.

Skinfit athlete, Nico Lebrun, just won the Xterra Northeast Cup! This moves him into 3rd overall in the series standing.

SLO crit

Last weekend we were in San Luis Obispo for the central coast cycling classic. It is such a cool event...the crit runs the streets of downtown SLO and there are tons of people. It proved to be a great networking event...we saw a ton of friends and old faces. If you can make it up to this event next year I highly recommend it.

Yvonne Van Vlerken Donates World Record Helmet To Challenged Athletes Foundation

Yvonne Van Vlerken’s world record helmet from the 2008 Quelle Challenge Roth will be auctioned in a special package including a brand new TT-helmet “WINGSPAN” by Rudy Project and a signed Headsweats Yvonne van Vlerken- Signature Running-Cap “The flying blonde Dutch girl”.

The auction starts July 2 and ends on July 11.

Splash-and-Dash and San Jose International

On the local front, the first event of the Skinfit Splash-and-Dash Series up in Northern California was a huge success. Athletes knocked out a 1500 meter swim and a 5k run. Skinfit was in FULL-EFFECT that night and we can't thank everyone enough for their support at this event!

Last weekend was the San Jose Triathlon/Pro-Challenge. Again, the Skinfit Racing Team and Team Ascent showed up big time and posted some solid results.

In the Pro-Challenge, Brian Lavelle rocked the new Skinfit Plasma Suit for the swim/run/swim/run portion of the race.


The past couple weeks of racing have brought great exposure to Skinfit here in the states and abroad. We are proud of all of our athletes and look forward to continued success this summer. Keep up the good work everyone and keep living the Skinfit lifestyle!

Victor Plata and Nicole Klingler make the podium

The past couple weeks of racing have been dominated by solid performances from Skinfit athletes from around the world.
At Escape from Alcatraz, Skinfit athlete Victor Plata used a speedy run to crack the top 5 and stand on the pro podium...congrats Victor! Also racing well at Alcatraz was the Stanford Triathlon Team, Team Ascent, and our very own Skinfit Racing Team.
At Ironman Japan, Nicole Klingler crossed the line in 9:52:52 to take her first victory, as well as the first Ironman victory for an athlete from the country of Liechtenstein.

Skinfit splash and dash race series

Skinfit is the main sponsor for the splash and dash series in Cupertino, California (Northern CA). We are excited to partner with Andrew Ferguson, the race director!
There will be three races this summer. They will take place June 11th, July 9th, and August 13th and the gun will go off at 6pm. It is the perfect mid-week workout...1500 meter swim followed by a 5k run. Skinfit will be providing some killer prizes so sign up and come on out for a showdown!

The first race is tonight and we will have a race report with pictures in the next day or so. Stay tuned!

Skinfit athlete, Christine Jeffrey, got 3rd at the forth stop on the Xterra Cup Circuit. She is killing it this year...she has been on the pro podium at every Xterra race she has entered! Keep up the good work Christine!

Bert Jammaer wins Lanzarote and Lesley Paterson is 2nd in Alabama

Skinfit athletes made a serious statement this weekend with a win at Ironman Lanzarote and a 2nd place at the Xterra Southeast Cup.

Bert Jammaer won Ironman Lanzarote for the second year in a row and he did so in a blue Skinfit speedsuit! Read the race report by clicking here....

Also, Xterra pro and Skinfit athlete Lesley Paterson placed 2nd in Alabama at the Xterra Southeast Cup. She sported a red Skinfit speedsuit! Read the race report by clicking here...

Product highlight: Tri Shorts 5504 and 5501

Our tri shorts are flying off the shelves for good reason. They are very comfortable, contour to your body, dry quickly, have tan anti-bacterial pad to keep you comfortable on the bike and the run, have a "no-bounce" pocket in the back, and they are very durable. Last weekend....

Last weekend proved to be quite a success for Skinfit. We were up at Wildflower making sales, meeting people, and generally having a good time bringing our brand to the triathlon community. Plus, we got to support a great cause, Jenny's Light, which is a charity that was created by Becky Lavelle.

On the racing side of things we had two Skinfit athletes podium at the first Xterra Cup race of the series in Las Vegas. Lesley Paterson was 3rd and Christine Jeffrey was 5th...congrats ladies!

A host of other Skinfit loyalists/teams raced up at Wildflower and did very well...team Ascent based up in Los Gatos, Monterey Bay Multisport, and The Stanford Triathlon Team had a great showing for Skinfit.

Team Skinfit in full-effect this weekend (and Monday)...

Team Skinfit was racing like crazy this weekend up at Sea Otter, at the Boston Marathon, and at collegiate nationals! The short of it is that Skinfit was well represented by James Walsh, Trevor Glavin, Reto Waeffler and the Stanford Triathlon Team. Everyone had solid races and proved that the Skinfit lifestyle is alive and kicking!

Trevor did three races at Sea Otter...the crit, circuit race, and cross-country. The road races were purely training and they proved to be nice and hard, which was what he was looking for. The cross-country race was brutal (38 miles, nearly 3 hrs, and HOT!) He managed 6th place in a tough field. James did the cross-country as well and got 10th. Not bad getting two Skinfit riders in the top 10 at a race as big as Sea Otter. The effects of the hard race are still being felt for sure!!!

Reto knocked out the Boston Marathon. He was on goal pace (2:38) until about mile 21 and had to slow a bit over the final 5 miles but still ran 2:47. Not bad considering it is only his second marathon and he only trained for 12 weeks. Something tells me he will crack 2:40 no problem on the next go =)



The Stanford Triathlon Team was in Texas racing 2009 collegiate nationals. The team placed 9th in the nation! Incredibly, five out of eight athletes that scored in the team competition are in their first triathlon season, which shows a lot of promise for the future. Plus, they all had fun and sported the skinfit aero shirts all weekend from the event, to awards, to the post race grub at Rudy's BBQ!
