Team Skinfit in full-effect this weekend (and Monday)...

Team Skinfit was racing like crazy this weekend up at Sea Otter, at the Boston Marathon, and at collegiate nationals! The short of it is that Skinfit was well represented by James Walsh, Trevor Glavin, Reto Waeffler and the Stanford Triathlon Team. Everyone had solid races and proved that the Skinfit lifestyle is alive and kicking!

Trevor did three races at Sea Otter...the crit, circuit race, and cross-country. The road races were purely training and they proved to be nice and hard, which was what he was looking for. The cross-country race was brutal (38 miles, nearly 3 hrs, and HOT!) He managed 6th place in a tough field. James did the cross-country as well and got 10th. Not bad getting two Skinfit riders in the top 10 at a race as big as Sea Otter. The effects of the hard race are still being felt for sure!!!

Reto knocked out the Boston Marathon. He was on goal pace (2:38) until about mile 21 and had to slow a bit over the final 5 miles but still ran 2:47. Not bad considering it is only his second marathon and he only trained for 12 weeks. Something tells me he will crack 2:40 no problem on the next go =)

The Stanford Triathlon Team was in Texas racing 2009 collegiate nationals. The team placed 9th in the nation! Incredibly, five out of eight athletes that scored in the team competition are in their first triathlon season, which shows a lot of promise for the future. Plus, they all had fun and sported the skinfit aero shirts all weekend from the event, to awards, to the post race grub at Rudy's BBQ!
Here is a link to results.

So, some very solid results over the past few days! There is plenty more racing to come this season so stay tuned.

Keep living the Skinfit lifestyle!

Product highlight...Aero running tops

Looking for the most comfortable and functional running top on the market? Then you HAVE to try our Aero product line!

The Aero product line is a Skinfit classic. We have improved the existing aero fabric with a knitting process that combines two specialized fibers into a dual- sided fabric. The fibers are the latest high-tech innovation in the market. For the inside layer, we use Meryl Skinlife, a fiber that features integrated silver ions, which maintain an optimum natural Ph-balance to prevent bacteria growth, the cause of odor. For the outer layer, we use the fast-drying hollow fiber Meryl Nexten. Skinfit Aero is light and dry even when wet. The fabric is wind-resistant, which makes it an ideal partner for any climate. The ergonomic cut ensures perfect moisture transfer and functionality. Aero products are suited for training and competition. Aero can be worn as the outer layer or, on colder days, as an optimum intermediate layer. We use more expensive and advanced polyblend fibers (as opposed to using 100% polyester) to create a fabric that offers incredible comfort and performance.

Aero features:

-wind-resistant
-extremely elastic
-prevents bacteria growth and thus ensures neutral smell thanks to special fibers with integrated silver ions
-for competition and training
-soft and comfortable

You can order an aero shirt through our webshop (click on "webshop" and you will be linked directly to the aero shirt page) and it will be on your doorstep in a matter of days!

Trifest--Day 2

Day 2 was a bit slower in terms of foot traffic, which was a bit surprising. Despite fewer people at the expo then expected I did make some good contacts. From a networking perspective Trifest has been great.
Today is the last day and then I am packing up shop and heading back to San Diego.

Trifest--Day 1

A busy but successful first day at Trifest.
It was hectic getting setup this morning but it all came together by noon in time for the start of the event. Foot traffic was a little light today and that was to be expected. However, we did make some sales and we were well received. It feels so good to finally be attending events and showcasing Skinfit! Tomorrow will be a very busy day and I am excited to see it play out!

First Skinfit event, Jenny's Light 5k

Yesterday, we had our first Skinfit booth at the Jenny's Light 5k in Los Gatos and it was a success.
We got up early, realized how much we forgot to do, and scrambled for a couple hours to make it all come together. A HUGE learning experience for sure! The event was a success on several fronts. We were there to support Jenny's Light, which is a charity that has been created by Becky Lavelle to improve and save lives by increasing awareness of all perinatal mood disorders including postpartum depression. We sold Jenny's Light shirts, candles, and water bottles bringing in $1,000 for the charity! On the Skinfit front, we sold some product, met a ton of people, and had prime exposure to 400 runners...not a bad first showing!!!!

Despite the rain people showed up to support the charity, which was awesome to see. We feel very lucky to have been included in this event...at Skinfit we are very passionate about giving back to the community so this was a perfect match.
Please visit Jenny's Light to learn more about it and to support the efforts of Becky as she continues to build awareness.
Next weekend is another big weekend....Skinfit will be represented at both the Stanford Treeathlon and Trifest! If you are at either event come say hi!
